Relocating to Singapore was a significant challenge, but also an exciting opportunity for personal and professional growth. Although I had worked in Sony Electronics Vietnam for a couple of years prior to joining Sony Electronics Singapore and was familiar with the common language of our organization, adapting to the new work environment pushed me out of my comfort zone. The work culture, market dynamics, and consumer expectations here are vastly different, which required a deeper understanding and a more strategic approach.
Building trust with colleagues and local partners took time, but I received invaluable support from both my team and manager. With their constant guidance and encouragement, I was able to engage more effectively with others. Their support and our company’s open-minded, collaborative culture have been instrumental in helping me overcome these challenges and demonstrate my value.

Joining Sony as an IT Engineer two years ago, I’ve been inspired by the innovative and forward-thinking environment here. My department constantly explores the latest technologies, and being part of these experimental initiatives allows me to gain invaluable hands-on experience. Each project feels unique, providing fresh challenges that foster my growth as an engineer. 
One of my most memorable experiences has been working on a project spanning the Asia-Pacific region. I began my career at Sony as a retail consultant and worked my way up over the years. Early on, transitioning into backend operations and strategic tasks was a challenging shift in my managerial journey. However, these experiences pushed me to learn and grow in ways I hadn’t expected. Working in retail meant weekends and public holidays were a regular part of my work schedule. As a father of four young children, balancing work, family, and personal goals have always been a challenge. Yet, the irregular hours also taught me to maximize every moment and focus on what truly matters. Every job has its challenges, but my advice is to always find joy in what you do. It's those small moments of joy that keep you motivated and focused, especially when times get tough.

I joined Sony in my penultimate year of university as a Supply Chain Analytics intern, where I worked on process enhancement projects using Robotics Process Automation (RPA) tools. This experience not only developed my technical skills but also introduced me to Sony’s culture of innovation and its many opportunities for growth and contribution. Upon graduation, I was excited to return as a full-time RPA developer.
Transitioning into the corporate world was challenging, but the supportive work environment here made the process smoother. My team provided consistent guidance, helping me to navigate the steep learning curve with confidence. I joined Sony through the Management Associate Program right after graduating from university in Hong Kong and to this day, it’s still my first and only job! My journey started in local marketing in Hong Kong, where I rotated through different roles in product marketing, retail marketing, and even front-line management. Later, I took on a regional marketing role and relocated to Singapore, moving from consumer marketing to B2B marketing. Having been with Sony for over a decade, what keeps me going is the constant learning and the endless opportunities to grow. The environment here is dynamic, and change is always embraced. When I first joined Sony as a Sales Operations Support, I never imagined how much the experience would shape me. Supporting developing regions such as Bangladesh and Sri Lanka taught me the importance of collaboration, precision and teamwork across borders, and gave me a solid foundation in understanding how the business operates. A year later, I moved into Account Management – a challenging transition, but with the support and guidance of my colleagues, I found the confidence to grow into the role. Today, I manage the Brunei and Maldives markets, driving business growth and building meaningful partnerships. What makes Sony special to me is its belief in people.
