The Bluetooth headphones (earbuds) volume does not increase or sync with the smartphone volume
This article shows instructions for the LinkBuds Clip (WF-LC900).
If you are using a different model, refer to the page for other models.
Follow the steps below if you have volume issues with the LinkBuds Clip:
- Clean the earbuds.
If foreign substances (such as earwax) build up in the sound output holes, sound may not come out or the volume may seem lower than usual. Make sure to clean the sound output holes on the earcuff body (small) after use. For details, refer to this article: How to care for your headphones. - Adjust the position of the earbuds.
The sound output holes may be away from your ear. Adjust the position for each side to find the best place for optimal volume.
- Left image: The earbuds clip is positioned horizontally across the outer ear.
- Right image: The earbuds clip is in a vertical / rotated position.
- Adjust the volume on both the earbuds and the connected device.
Depending on the connected device, the volume may not sync with the earbuds and you may not get the desired volume. For best results, adjust the volume on both the earbuds and the connected device.Note: If you are using the Sony | Sound Connect app, adjust the volume in the app and on the connected device.
- Check the earbuds' settings.
If you feel that the volume of the content you are watching is too low, double-tap the L (left) earbud or use the Sony | Sound Connect app to switch the listening mode to Voice Boost.Note: The listening mode is not active during calls.
- Restart the earbuds or connected device.
- Set the earbuds into the charging case, close the lid once, and then remove the earbuds again.
- Restart the connected device. Doing this may resolve the temporary issue on the connected device.
- Reset the earbuds.
If your earbuds have a temporary issue, resetting them may resolve the issue.
The pairing information and other settings will be retained after resetting the earbuds.For details on resetting the LinkBuds Clip, refer to the Help Guide.
- Initialize the earbuds.
If your earbuds have a temporary issue, initializing them may resolve the issue.
Initialization returns the earbuds to the factory settings and deletes all Bluetooth pairing information.For details on resetting the LinkBuds Clip, refer to the Help Guide.
- If the issue is not resolved
The earbuds may be malfunctioning, and service may be required.
