The volume levels for broadcasts and apps* are different when using an external speaker via HDMI (eARC/ARC).

Depending on the app, the volume of the surround sound may be set louder than TV broadcasts.

NOTE: You can reduce the volume difference by setting the digital audio output to PCM with the following procedure. However, PCM cannot output surround sound.

1. Open the  Settings screen. How to access Settings
   • Using the  Quick Settings button (For models released in 2019 or later)
     1. Press the  (Quick Settings) button on the remote control.
     2. Select  Settings.
   • Using the HOME button
     1. Press the HOME button on the remote control.
     2. Select  Settings.
2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
   • Select Display & Sound — Audio output — Digital audio out — PCM.
   • Select Sound — Digital audio out — PCM.
