  1. What is the Sony CompactFlash card Image Recovery Service?
    The CompactFlash card Image Recovery Service is a service provided to customer to send in the CompactFlash cards to local Service Center to recover unreadable or unintentionally deleted data on the cards. The service is intended for customers who purchased the Sony CompactFlash card 133x (NCFC) and 300x (NCFD) series.

  2. How long does it take to rescue the data in the CompactFlash card?
    It takes about one week to rescue the data. However, please check with the local Service Centre as they will be able to provide a better estimation of the time taken to rescue the lost data.
  3. Can the data recovery software be downloaded from the website?
    There is no download available.
  4. Is the Sony CompactFlash card Image Recovery Service available for only the 133x (NCFC) and 300x (NCFD) series?
    Yes, it is available for only the 133x and 300x type.
    The service is provided specifically for the higher level CompactFlash cards.
  5. Is it possible to perform the Sony CompactFlash card Image Recovery Service on a non-Sony CompactFlash card?
    No, it is not possible. This service is exclusively for the Sony CompactFlash card 133x (NCFC) and 300x (NCFD) series.
  6. How is the rescued data being stored?
    We will return the CompactFlash card to the customer according to the following procedures:
    When the data is restored, we will return the CompactFlash card to the customer with a CD-R or DVD-R containing the restored data. We will return the CompactFlash card as received. If the data cannot be restored, we will check that the card is fault-free and return the CompactFlash card as received.
  7. How to check the whether the data is successfully recovered?
    To check whether the data is successfully recovered, please verify if the data is rescued during the point of collection at the service center.
  8. Is it possible to rescue the lost data in a faulty CompactFlash using this data service?
    No, it is not possible to rescue the lost data in a faulty CompactFlash using this data rescue service.
  9. What happens if the data cannot be recovered from the CompactFlash?
    If the data cannot be recovered from the CompactFlash, we will check that the CompactFlash card is fault-free and return the CompactFlash card as received.
