Sony Calls Upon Singaporeans to Document Positive Change and Resilience for Sony Alpha Creators Contest 3.0
(SINGAPORE, 1 SEPTEMBER 2020) – Sony has launched its annual Sony Alpha Creators contest, calling upon Singaporeans to photograph moments celebrating an embrace of change as Singapore settles into a “new normal”.
Drawing on the events of 2020, the contest, titled ‘Be the Change’, aims to inspire amateur and seasoned photographers alike to not only document Singapore in its new normal but also celebrate fresh beginnings during this period of time.
“The world is witnessing unprecedented change. We want to instill hope by encouraging and inspiring photographers to find beauty within these ongoing changes through the Alpha Creators’ contest,” said Nathaniel Neo, Head, Digital Imaging Marketing, Sony Electronics (Singapore). “Our goal for this year’s Sony Alpha Creators contest is to provide a platform for professional and aspiring photographers to tell their stories and celebrate positive points of view as we look at the road ahead.”
The contest will be judged by three talented and diverse local photographers, Lee Aiksoon, Veron Ang and Jaegen Tan. Each have a flair for street, architecture and travel photography respectively.
“As a photographer, I always seek to capture new sights, golden moments and fresh perspectives. The transition into our new normal has presented us all with opportunities that would never have been possible before,” said Lee Aiksoon, Freelance Photographer. “I am excited to see this contest highlight the stories and moments that mean the most to Singaporeans and reflect our resilience even during challenging times.”
