Adjusting the Picture setting on my LCD TV

    IMPORTANT: This solution applies to BRAVIA TVs other than Android TV™ or Google TV™ models. For Android TVs, refer to the Adjusting the Picture setting on my Android TV article. For Google TVs, refer to the Adjusting the Picture setting on a Google TV article.

    You can adjust the following picture settings. To access the settings, on the remote control, press the HOME button, then select Settings — System Settings or Display — Picture.

    Note:  The availability of the function to adjust depends on the model of the TV.

    Setting items

    Picture Mode

    Set a picture mode.

    Reset

    Reset all Picture settings except Picture Mode and Intelligent Picture Plus to the default settings.

    Brightness

    Brighten or darken the picture.

    Backlight

    Adjust the backlight luminance. Reducing the brightness of the screen reduces power consumption.

    Picture/Contrast

    Adjust the picture contrast.

    Adjust the black level of the picture.

    Adjust the color saturation level.

    Adjust the green and red tones.

    Adjust the color temperature or the whiteness of the picture.

    Reality Creation

    Adjust fineness and noise for a realistic picture.

    • Resolution: Adjust fineness and clarity.
    • Select Manual from Reality Creation to adjust the Resolution.

    Reality Creation

    Mastered in 4K

    Optimize picture quality for Blu-ray Discs mastered in 4K. Applies to 1080/24p signals only.

    Noise Reduction

    Reduce the picture noise (grainy picture) in a weak broadcast signal.

    Random noise reduction

    Reduce repetitive random noise.

    MPEG Noise Reduction

    Reduce the picture noise in MPEG-compressed video.

    Digital noise reduction

    Reduce video compression noise.

    Motionflow

    Refine moving images.

    CineMotion/Cinema Drive/Film mode

    Provides improved picture movement when playing BD (Blu-ray Disc), DVD, or VCR film images. Select Auto to reproduce the original film-based content.
    NOTE: If the image contains too much noise, CineMotion/Cinema Drive/Film mode is automatically turned off even if Auto is selected.

    Advanced Settings

    Set detailed Picture settings such as Gamma or Live Color.

    Intelligent Picture Plus Set-up
    • Intelligent Picture Plus: Enhance picture quality according to preferred settings, channel, or video input.
    • Signal Level Indicator: When On is selected, the signal level bar is displayed when you select an analog channel or video input.
    • Picture Optimization: Allow you to enhance the picture to your preferred settings.
