The procedure to set to pairing mode varies depending on your headphones. Here, we describe how to set headphones made by Sony to pairing mode.
For details, refer to the manual of the product.
- Truly wireless type
E.g. For WF-1000XM3
When you open the charging case and take out the headphones (L/R), they turn on automatically and the indicator flash.
When you wear them and touch and hold the left and right touch sensors at the same time for about seven seconds, you will hear the voice guidance Bluetooth Pairing from the left side, and the headphones will go into pairing mode.
- Neckband type
E.g. For WI-1000X
When you press and hold the Power button on the headphones for about seven seconds, the indicator will flash alternately in blue and red, you will hear the voice guidance Bluetooth Pairing, and the headphones will go into pairing mode.
- For over headband models
When you press and hold the Power button or PAIRING button on the headphones for about seven seconds, the indicator will flash and the headphones will go into pairing mode.
The flashing indicator varies depending on the model. Please refer to the Operating Instructions.
Step 2: Pair the headphones with the TV
NOTE: The procedure below describes an example using screens from Android™ 8.0.
The screen menus vary depending on the Android OS. For details, refer to the Help Guide (Web manual).
- Set the TV to pairing mode.
Press the HOME button on the remote control, select Settings ― (Remote & Accessories) ― Bluetooth setting ― Add device, and press the ENTER button.
This will set the TV to pairing mode.
- Pair the headphones with the TV.
Place the headphones in pairing mode within 1 m of the TV.
When the TV detects the headphones, the device name of the headphones will be displayed at the upper right of the screen.
Select it and press the ENTER button.
If the text under the device name changes to Paired and a message indicating that the Bluetooth connection is complete is displayed, pairing is complete.
Use the TV remote control to select the desired program or connected device input, and check if audio is output from the headphones.
If you pair the headphones once, you do not need to pair them again.
For information about reconnecting or disconnecting after pairing, refer to the following article.
