Preparation

Prerequisites for the update

The following USB Memory device is required for Firmware Update:

  • 100 MB or more available space
  • High-Speed USB Certified
  • File System is formatted by FAT32 or FAT16
    *If you don't know if your USB memory supports it, we strongly recommend using over 2 GB USB memory.

If the Firmware Update isn't completed after trying it, please use another USB memory device and press the Reset button.

Check the firmware version

Follow these steps to check the currently installed firmware version of the unit:
If the version is displayed as "MCU: 1.03.00, SOC: 1.03.00", you do not need to update the firmware.

  1. Turn the main unit "ON".
  2. Select "Settings" from the Home screen.
  3. Select "General Settings".
  4. Select "Firmware Version". The current Firmware version is then displayed.

Important Notice

  • The following settings are reverted back to their default values after the update. Please store the setting values to memorandum in order to restore your settings after the update.

  • Please make sure to follow all the steps indicated below.
  • The update procedure in your car takes approx. 10 minutes to complete.
  • Park your car in a safe place and start the engine to avoid a voltage drop of the power to the unit.

Step 1: Download the Update

  1. Make sure your PC is connected to the Internet.
  2. Download the update file to your PC.
  3. Extract the update file to create the "update" folder which includes CUST_024.BIN and st24mcu.bin.
  4. Copy the "update" folder under the root of the USB memory which is connected to your PC.
  5. Disconnect the USB memory from your PC.

Step 2: Install the update

  1. Connect the USB memory to the main unit.
  2. Press the volume knob and select "Source OFF" (or press the OFF button of the remote control) to change the unit to the Source OFF state.
  3. Select "Settings" from the Home screen. Please swipe from the bottom of the Home screen, then from the right to the left if you cannot find the "Settings" icon.
  4. Select "General Settings".
  5. Select "Firmware Version".
  6. Select "Update".
    • Please confirm the USB memory's file structure if you cannot push the "Update" button. The USB memory may not have the update file in the correct place.
    • Please confirm the USB memory's files if the unit shows "This data is not compatible" message. The USB memory may not have the correct update file.
    • Please download the latest update file if the version is not displayed as "MCU: 1.03.00, SOC: 1.03.00". You may be using an incorrect update file.
  7. Select "Update" again. The unit then starts updating. The update should finish within approximately 10 minutes. The unit will automatically restart multiple times during the update. Once the update is finished, the unit will show "For your safety".
    • Please do not turn off the unit during the update.
    • Please do not disconnect the USB memory during the update.

Step 3: Confirm that the update was successful

  1. Turn the main unit "ON".
  2. Select "Settings" from the Home screen.
  3. Select "General Settings".
  4. Select "Firmware Version". The current Firmware version is then displayed. When "MCU: 1.03.00, SOC: 1.03.00" is displayed for the "version" number, updating of the firmware is completed.

If you are unable to update the firmware, please try again using another USB device and press the Reset button.
