Preparation

Check the firmware version

Your firmware may already be up to date, especially if you have a new Sound Bar. If the version number is 1.847 or higher, you do not need to update.

If you're not sure, it's easy to check which version of firmware you have:

  1. Turn on your TV and check that the input your sound bar is connected to has been selected, so if the sound bar is connected to the HDMI 2 socket, choose HDMI 2 as the input.
  2. Turn on the sound bar.
  3. Press HOME on the remote control and wait until you see the home screen.
  4. On the home screen, select [Setup] > [Advanced Settings] with the arrow keys on the remote control. Then press the ENTER key.
  5. Highlight [System Information] and press ENTER key.
  6. On the TV screen, the firmware version number looks like this:
Software Version 001.847 (the 1st and 2nd zeros of the software version number can be ignored) — if the version number is 1.847 or higher, you already have the most recent firmware version.

Important notice

  • Read the instructions carefully or you may damage your HT-X9000F.
  • Do not turn off the HT-X9000F or disconnect it from the power while it is updating.
  • Do not press any buttons, except the ones mentioned in the instructions.
