How do I become a My Sony member? |

Easily! You only submit an online registration of the warranty of any Sony product (still under the terms and conditions of its warranty coverage) on My Sony once, and you’re a member for life! Shortly after you submit your registration, you’ll be sent your My Sony ID & Password to sign in. It’s a breeze. |

No, membership is absolutely free! There are no first-time fees or renewal costs. My Sony membership is offered as an exclusive service to all Sony customers who register their warranties online. |

What should I do if I wish to receive Sony email communication or re-subscribe to e-newsletter or other Sony emails? |

To re-subscribe your My Sony email communication, you can login My Sony website with your My Sony ID and password. Then choose "My eNews Subscription" on the left menu. At My eNews Subscription webpage, please tick My Sony eNewsletter checkbox and click "Submit" button. Please note that no email acknowledgement receipt will be sent to the email address you have provided after successfully re-subscribe to our Sony emails. What is the difference between E-Warranty and the warranty that is registered by post? |

They’re basically the same, but E-Warranty gives you an additional 3 months of coverage free as well as exclusive members only rewards. Besides, online registration is a lot more convenient and easier. |

I’ve registered my E-Warranty, but I still haven’t received my Warranty Certificate. Why not? |
|
A: |
The good news is – you don’t need it. Once your E-Warranty has been approved, you’ll be sent an email confirming your successful registration. You can then view your product warranty information when you sign into My Sony and under My Products, select Registered Products. Rest assured that if you can see your warranty information on screen, it’s authenticated. |

When I register an E-Warranty for a Sony product, will I automatically become a My Sony member? |

As soon as your E-Warranty is approved, you’ll be informed by email of your successful registration. You’ll then become a My Sony member automatically and get to enjoy all the benefits of My Sony membership. |

Yes, it’s one of the benefits of My Sony and gives you access to tutorials, guides and other downloads for the products you’ve registered, as well as reminders about the warranty status of each. It’s also good for insurance purposes. You’ll need to register at least one purchase to join My Sony, then use the My Products > Register a New Product link to add more products once you’re a member. |

Unfortunately, as of this moment, E-Warranty is only available for consumer products (excluding professional products, accessories and batteries). However, we may be adding more products to E-Warranty coverage in the future. |

Can I purchase extended warranty coverage for my Sony products? |

Yes. However, extended warranty is only applicable for VAIO laptops, desktops & Sony Tablets that are within the warranty period registered with a My Sony account. Other product categories such as BRAVIA TVs, α DSLR cameras, NEX cameras, Cyber-shot digital cameras, , Walkman players, Xplod car audio, PlayStation game consoles and other warrantable products do NOT apply. |

How do I purchase extended warranty coverage for VAIO laptops or desktops? |

Log in to your My Sony account & go to ‘My Products > Registered Products’ from the left navigation bar. At ‘My Registered Products’, locate your VAIO/Sony Tablet product warranty details and select ‘Buy Warranty’ to purchase the additional warranty period. Select your preferred warranty coverage option and follow the instructions on screen to complete your purchase of the extended warranty. |

Make sure that you don’t have symbols like - (dash), @, #, ‘ (apostrophe), () bracket and other anonymous symbol within the email address. In addition, ensure the caps lock is NOT on and that your keyboard is in the correct language. |
