New and Evolved Portable Wireless Server from Sony is the Ideal Companion to your Smartphone
Users can wirelessly view and share content and charge their smartphones on the go or at home with the new WG-C20

(SINGAPORE, 5th September 2013)The new and evolved Portable Wireless Server (PWS) from Sony is the answer to effortless viewing and sharing of content on the go from the Xperia or other smartphones. By establishing Wi-Fi connection from NFC-equipped smartphones with One-touch connection, users are able to view and share content wirelessly. Slim and easy to use, the WG-C20 doubles as a large-capacity battery charger for smartphones or tablets, making it a great choice for users who want to manage their photos, videos, music and other data like office documents while on the move.

"The WG-C20 truly is the perfect companion to smartphone users. It’s just easy. Easy Wi-Fi connection, secure sharing with the "Access Control" function, and users at home can now have more fun with its DLNA supporting capability to share their content wirelessly and effortlessly," said Takayuki Takemura, Deputy Director, Recording Media & Energy Division, Sony Electronics Asia Pacific.

With a wireless connection, users can transfer content from their SD cards, external hard drive1 as well as USB memory to their smartphones via the WG-C20. Users can also allow up to eight devices to simultaneously and wirelessly connect to the WG-C20. The "Access Control" function allows their friends or co-workers to access, share and playback content stored in a specified folder.

At home, with DLNA support, the WG-C20 can be used as a mini home media server to wirelessly view photos and videos as well as listen to music on DLNA-enabled large screen televisions and home audio systems.

The WG-C20 also functions as a large capacity, back-up power source for smartphones or tablets. Additionally, consumers can enjoy up to 10 hours of continuous MP3 playback with the PWS. All controls are managed by the smartphone or tablet through the “File Manager” App for both Android and iOS2 (available at Google Play or App Store).

The Portable Wireless Server, model WG-C20, will be available in black, white and purple at all Sony Stores and Sony Centres in Singapore from December 2013 onwards.
