Arts Supporter Award 2011 – A National Arts Council Award

Sony has been awarded the Arts Supporter Award 2011 from the National Arts Council for its contributions towards the Singapore Visual Theatre Festival. To be recognized for the Arts Supporter Award, recipients must have contributed sponsorships between S$10,000 to S$49,999 in cash or in kind to promote cultural and artistic activities in Singapore. The award aims to encourage individuals and corporate organizations to support the local arts scene and to expand the pool of arts sponsors. |
Titled “Column”, the face of the medallion features columns, the sun and an intertwining vine which together epitomize the continuous relationship between strong community support for the arts and the endless growth and supply of artistic energy. |
PUB Watermark Award 2011
The Sony Group of Companies in Singapore was recognized for its role in water conservation by being awarded the PUB Watermark Award 2011.This award is given out to organizations who have made outstanding contributions to water conservation in Singapore and who also partnered the local community together with PUB (Public Utilities Board) to further Singapore's water management efforts and strategy. |

Sony recognizes the importance of water conservation operating in an environment where water is precious and scarce, and has taken on various steps over the years to make a difference. Every year since 1999, the Sony Group of Companies organizes an environment-themed CSR activity as part of its total CSR programme in Singapore and from 2007 onwards, these environmental CSR activities have been focused on water conservation. |

In a recent ceremony, the Sony Group of companies in Singapore received the Excellent Achievement accolade at the Singapore Sustainability Awards 2011 organized by the Singapore Business Federation. Sony was awarded this honor due to its long-term commitment on environmental policies, showing a steady reduction on environmental impact, being innovative is areas such as the introduction of LED lighting in the workplace, and the continuous stream of CSR activities. |
The award, which is into its second year, aims to recognize the sustainable business practices and green solutions of Singapore companies. |
